"I have a wonderful producer in Freddy Koella, who has been Will DeVille's musical director for years and has worked with Zachary Richard and others. He's French and came ot Los Angeles from New Orleans where I met him through Danny Ferrington, my guitar maker friend. I pitched him songs for a Willie DeVille project he was going to produce and he was taken with me as an artist and we decided to make a CD at his studio. A very different process than Bryndle, he practically insists that all my perfomances be live (vocal & guitar only) then he goes back and overdubs various instruments; violin, guitar, drums, ec. In short, he does for me what I have done with others in the past - very interesting for me to release the reins totally like that."

I think the song that acts a sort of a bridge between my solo work and Bryndle is "Night Full of Rain."

Gotta Let it Go
(Kenny Edwards & Wendy Waldman)

This song got its start as a Bryndle track in 1996 and was performed live by the band during that period. In 1997, a very different version was recorded by Bryndle in very early sessions for "Bryndle 2" but was pulled.
