Not far from downtown Sausalito sits one of the most famous recording studios in the world. Now known as "The Plant," this studio was originally part of "The Record Plant" chain of studios with other locations in Los Angeles and New York.
This is where Fleetwood Mac recorded most of their classic album "Rumors" in the '70s.
Santana, Journey, Prince, Mariah Carey, Dave Matthews Band, Metallica, Sly and the Family Stone and many others have all recorded here.
