Dock On The BayIt was in 1967, on a houseboat, here at the main dock in Sausalito that Otis Redding wrote "Dock On The Bay," the biggest hit of his career. As the story goes, Otis was playing a club in San Francisco and staying at a hotel there. Once fans discovered his location, he and his manager rented a houseboat in Sausalito for some peace and quiet. Otis recorded the song on December 7th, 1967 and died in a plane crash on December 10th, just three days later. On January 8th, 1968 "(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay" was released as a single.
