House Of Silence

Bitter Wheel

Kenny Edwards
- "Bitter Wheel is among first tracks we cut for the 2nd Bryndle CD almost 5 years ago.In a way it seems like its from another project altogether- like Bryndle 1 1/2. The track was cut with the whole band playing together; somewhat of a novelty in today's computer driven recording world. The song was inspired by L.A.- we kind of thought of it as our Chili Peppers tune."

Late one night the wind changes direction
Mary says to herself, things are gonna get hot
Rolling down through town just picking up friction
Makes you want to hold on to what you've got

Bobby sits in his car looking over his shoulder
Says I feel like I've been here before
So many things I wished that I'd have told her
So much of me she's taking out that door

Bitter wheel's gonna roll tonight
Are you ready
I can feel it like a wire pulled tight
From the desert down to the shore
Nothing in your life is gonna be the same
When the ground starts shaking you're gonna forget
Everything you know
And let it roll
(let it roll)

Man talks to himself standing there on the corner
And I'm watching as we wait for the light
And I wonder, is it just getting older
Or is it just that some that sometimes we give up the fight

Bitter Wheel's gonna roll tonight
Are you ready
I can feel it like a wire pulled tight
From the desert down to the shore
Nothing in your life is gonna be the same
When the ground starts shaking you're gonna forget
Everything you know
And let it roll

(let it roll)

And the house you build
Can come down in the wind
It can set you free
Or it can lock you in

Bitter Wheel's gonna roll tonight
Are you ready
I can feel it like a wire pulled tight
From the desert down to the shore
Nothing in your life is gonna be the same
When the ground starts shaking you're gonna regret
Everything you know
And let it roll
