"The Lucky One"
written by
Karla Bonoff, Andrew Gold, Kenny Edwards & Wendy Waldman

"I particularly love this song because of it's strange dual nature--it's almost Zen like. On one hand, it acknowledges the darkness in life and the up-hill battle people face everyday, yet on the other hand it's a celebration of living. The person singing the song knows that it's all madness, but still feels that living itself makes us all "The Lucky One"".
- Wendy Waldman

Nobody round here
Likes to roll the dice
You could fall in love
I've seen it once or twice

I, I'm the lucky one

It's a might long way
Down to the wrecking yard
People round here
Don't have to walk to far

I, I'm the lucky one
I'm the lucky one

Down the road to the edge of town
Watch the stars as they wheel around
Glass is dry and the chips are gone
You still play - the game goes on

For some it comes easy
And some too hard
I guess it all depends
On where you are
So take me to the table
And deal my hand

I can lost if I have to
But I'll win if I can

I, I'm the lucky one
I, I'm the lucky one
