To all our good friends -- We want to tell you how much we appreciate your interest in our music and your support - it means everything to us. We're getting ready to do some great show in August, and to start working on the next record after that. As some of you know, Andrew is moving to Connecticut this summer as well, and he's realized that he's not going to be able to be in two places at once -- moving his family to a whole new part of the country -- getting them settled and starting life in a new town, and being all over the country with us in the band at the same time. He was hoping he'd be able to work this out, but as the time approaches, it's begun to look more and more like there's no way to do this right now and be able to give 100% to both the band and the family. Obviously, the family takes precedence and the conclusion is that Andrew can't be with us at this time in his life. We are all very old friends -- more like family and we've talked a lot about this with Andrew, and gave him our complete support and blessing -- we understand how difficult a choice this is for him. We also really appreciate his fairness in dealing with us. For anyone who might ask, there's no anger, no problems or conflicts between us -- just one of those crossroads life sometimes leads us to. As for Karla, Wendy, Kenny, Scott and Matt, we're very excited about the shows coming us, and have some cool new tunes to try out for the next record -- looking for some time to get a few more finished so we can do them in August. The band is sounding great and looking forward to the next chapter -- it sure has been an interesting story so far, with much more to come. We hope you'll all come see us and help us get ready to make the new record. As always, we want to say thanks for your belief in us, and your help in making our dream come true. We'll continue to be right here at the website, and we'll see you out there on the road. With love and thanks, Karla Bonoff, Wendy Waldman, and Kenny Edwards |
A day later, a reply from Andrew...

July 20th, 1996 Wendy, Karla, Kenny and I shall always be brothers and sisters and we will probably continue through our lives to work together with love as we always have throughout the last 25 years. I wouldn't even be surprised if the four of us worked together again in the near future, but, as Wendy has said, I was torn between a move across the country and the band and had to make the hard decision to leave, at least in the touring sense for now. I know the others will continue to create joyful and wonderful music, and I shall be eagerly waiting to head what they do, just as I always have. I also want to thank all our fans for the support I personally have felt, and hope you will also continue to enjoy the various solo records, live appearances and other projects I will be involved with in the next few years. I wish the band nothing but the greatest success. Go for it! |
